Privacy Policy

This describes what BeehiveDrive collects, why, and how it's protected. BeehiveDrive is used by teens studying for a learner's permit as well as adults, so we're deliberate about collecting only what the app needs.
What we collect
- Account info: email address, and display name if you set one. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and name from them, not your password.
- Study data: your quiz and exam answers, progress by topic, streaks, and XP, so the app can adapt to what you actually miss.
- Subscription status: if you upgrade to Premium, Stripe handles your payment details directly -- we never see or store your card number. We keep only your subscription status and Stripe customer ID to know your account is active.
- AI tutor questions: when you ask the AI tutor a question, we send it (along with your recent performance summary, never your name or email) to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your phone number, physical address, school, or precise location. AI tutor requests are sanitized before they leave our server: only an age bracket (teen/adult) and topic performance go to the AI provider, never your name or email.
AI conversations
Your AI tutor chat messages are not stored long-term tied to your account. A small, anonymized cache of question/answer pairs may be kept to answer similar future questions faster for other users -- this cache is keyed by the question itself, not by who asked it.
Who sees your data
Your study data is protected by row-level security in our database: only you (and BeehiveDrive's systems) can read it. We don't sell your data. We share data only with the service providers that make the app work:
- Supabase (database and authentication)
- Anthropic (AI tutor responses)
- Stripe (subscription billing)
- Vercel (hosting)
- Google and Apple (if you use their sign-in)
Users under 18
BeehiveDrive is intended to be used by teens with a parent or guardian's awareness, since a learner's permit typically requires one. If you're a parent and want to review or delete your teen's account, contact us at support@beehivedrive.app.
Your choices
You can delete your account and all of your data at any time from Account. This is immediate and permanent: it cancels any active subscription and removes your study progress, sessions, and subscription record from our database. It does not retroactively delete billing records Stripe is legally required to keep. To request a copy of your data instead, email support@beehivedrive.app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
